For example:<br \/><br \/>1) CME offers\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cmegroup.com\/markets\/equities\/nasdaq\/e-mini-nasdaq-100.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">E-mini-Nasdaq-100 futures<\/a>, which have a contract size of $20 x Nasdaq-100 Index.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>2) Alternatively, CBOT offers\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cmegroup.com\/markets\/equities\/dow-jones\/e-mini-dow.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">E-mini-DOW futures<\/a>, which have a contract size of $5 x DJIA index.<\/p>\n<p>The trading hours of the above-mentioned contracts are Sunday 6:00 p.m. &#8211; Friday &#8211; 5:00 p.m. ET (5:00 p.m. &#8211; 4:00 p.m. CT) with a daily maintenance period from\u00a05:00 p.m. \u2013 6:00 p.m. ET (4:00 p.m. \u2013 5:00 p.m. CT).<br \/><br \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Micro E-Mini Futures<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Similarly, Micro E-mini was introduced to the market in 2019, and it follows a similar structure:<br \/><br \/>1)\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cmegroup.com\/markets\/equities\/nasdaq\/micro-e-mini-nasdaq-100.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Micro E-Mini Nasdaq-100 Index<\/a>\u00a0contracts have a contract size of $2 x Nasdaq 100 Index.<\/p>\n<p>2) While\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cmegroup.com\/markets\/equities\/dow-jones\/micro-e-mini-dow.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Micro E-Mini DOW futures<\/a>\u00a0have a contract size of $0.50 x DJIA index.<br \/><br \/>The trading hours of the above-mentioned contracts are Sunday through Friday, 5:00 pm. Yet, trading with a mini contract is advantageous due to its highly liquid nature, lower margins, and cheaper pricing.<\/p>\n<p>Hence, to trade, it is important to research and choose the appropriate contract. For micro\/mini futures, there are 2 main types of contracts. The first are index futures (based on an underlying index), and the second, are commodities and base metals mini futures, such as copper, gold, oil, and gas.<\/p>\n<p>As noted in the contract specifications above, the value of future contracts is priced such that the smallest investments can be made.
